Scuba Diving
Umkomaas is famous for the internationally renowned Aliwal Shoal, a fossilised sand dune of sponges and corals which is home to the Ragged Tooth Shark, Tiger Sharks, Whale Sharks and the wrecks of the “Nebo” and “Produce”. There are various dive operators in Umkomaas and dive courses, shark dives and speciality dives like cage diving can be arranged to suit your needs.
Golfing
Umkomaas golf course is an 18-hole course which is heavily wooded and bunkered and is well regarded to test players whilst providing stunning sea views.
Ultralight Flying
Another attraction in the area is the World of Wings flying school, located at the Umkomaas Airfield. Learn how to fly a light sport aircraft, a microlight or take your first steps towards becoming a recreational pilot.

Annual Sardine Run
Each year in June or July along the KwaZulu-Natal coast the word gets out and, within hours, crowds of frenzied human predators converge on the area to join sharks, gamefish, marine mammals and birds in a feeding orgy.
